Shuoyuan He joined the Lam Family College of Business as an Assistant Professor of Accounting in Fall 2019. She received her Ph.D. in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and has subsequently held faculty appointments at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Tulane University. Before entering academia, she worked as an auditor for Ernst & Young.
Professor He's research interests focus on capital markets research in accounting, with primary emphasis on earnings forecasts and market efficiency. She has published in premier accounting journal, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and her research has won national award for advances in active investment management. Her passion for research carries over into her teaching. She was on the list of teachers ranked as excellent by their students university-wide at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At SF State, she teaches graduate (including MBA) and upper-division undergraduate students.
